Brett has been accepted to the U of I college and will start August 2004. He is looking to get a degree in Accounting and a second degree in Finance. He will sit for the Certified Public Accounting exam in May 2008. He then wants to get his MBA from Kellogg University in Chicago.
This is a map of the campus. Each blackened building is part of the college. There will be 40,000 students in the fall term from all over the world. This is where the "cream of the crop" compete to get enrolled.

Brett will graduate from Glenbard North HS on June 4, 2004. He has received an award for the National Honor Society after achieving a 4.6 (of 5.0) GPA. Brett has also completed his final project for the Boy Scouts of America and will receive his Eagle award in the fall presentation. The Eagle award is the highest award obtainable from the BSA and only a few boys out of a thousand get this award.
Brett has an interest in accounting and submitted applications to the 3 highest acclaimed colleges for accounting in the US (University of Illinois - Champaign-Urbana, University of Indiana and University of Michigan). He was accepted at all three and has elected to get his Certified Public Accounting certificate from the University of Illinois with a Concentration in Finance.
It goes without saying that we are extremely proud of his academic achievements and will help him all we can. The next five years will be tough for him.
Brett has two ferrets (Fang and
Snowball)

| The science project was to
build a bridge out of pasta that could support at least 250 times its
weight. This was the minimum to pass the test. Brett set a goal to build his bridge to support 4,000 times its weight. This is Brett standing on his pasta bridge. Since he does not weigh enough to crush his bridge, he "won" in all 6 science classes with his bridge supporting only 3, 050 times its weight. His teacher was amazed. |

Danielle at the Prom... May 2003

I'm going to get beat up pretty bad for these...

Brett had a choice of being a Rook or the King in the human chess
games at Jay Stream Middle School in Carol Stream, Illinois. After we
talked about it, Brett decided to be the "King". He pulled out his
plastic sword from his toy box the night before the match. In the first round, he easily won and
went to the final round with the winner of the other game. Early in the
match, Brett was forced out of his position and was completely exposed almost in
the center of the "board". I remember he pointed his sword at the opposing
king and mouthed something to him. I didn't realize it at the time, but
I'm sure Brett did - he could clearly see everything that was happening on the
board more easily than the opposing king could. He turned what I thought
was a "negative" into a positive situation. Brett started eliminating
the opposing pawns, bishops, knights and rooks. Before too long, Brett
check-mated the opposing King and became the 1998 Jay Stream Chess Champ.
